The sad fact is that all dogs can bite and they do it due to a number of reasons. If a dog is irritated on purpose, it is left no other way out. Pit Bulls are not aggressive by their nature. More than that, they are known to do very well with children. Most of these dogs are not very good guard dogs because of their friendliness toward people. Pit Bulls are used as therapy dogs with the elderly and children. Pit Bull breeds receive better scores than many other dog breeds with the American Temperament Testing Society.

Pit Bulls that had a biting incident are often euthanized. Only those dogs that prove to have no inclination to bite are kept in shelters and are waiting for their second chance. Most Pit Bulls found as strays are victims of abuse. When such dogs are brought to a shelter, they are confused and disoriented, seeking love and attention.

Considering everything mentioned above, the Pit Bull's reputation has been seriously undermined.The Pit Bull must not be a synonym of an unpredictable and fierce dog. American Pit Bull Terriers - American Pit Bull Terriers are striking dogs that possess great strength, power and willingness to work and please the owner.
